Introducing Our Meditation Guides

Seasoned practitioners who have spent years exploring the depths of contemplative philosophy and mindfulness practice

Our Approach to Teaching

We don’t think meditation is about clearing your mind or reaching a flawless state of calm. It’s more like learning to sit with whatever arises—the restless thoughts, the busy planning mind, even that peculiar itch that crops up a few minutes into sitting.

Our team combines decades of practice across diverse traditions. Some arrived at meditation through academic philosophy, others through personal upheaval, and a few simply wandered into it in college and stayed. What unites us is a commitment to teaching meditation as a practical life skill, not a mystical pursuit.

Each guide you’ll meet explains concepts in their own way. Ravi tends to use everyday-life analogies, while Ananya draws from her psychology background. We’ve found that different approaches resonate with different people, so you’ll likely connect more with certain teaching styles.

Ravi Krishnamurthy

Lead Instructor

Ravi began his meditation practice in 1998 after burnout from a software engineering career. He spent three years studying Vipassana in Myanmar and later trained in Zen meditation in Japan. His hallmark is the knack for making ancient ideas understandable with contemporary analogies—he once likened the monkey mind to having dozens of browser tabs open.

He leads our foundational courses and helps busy professionals cultivate sustainable meditation habits. His sessions typically include practical discussions on weaving mindfulness into work life and handling stress without bypassing reality.

Ananya Patel

Philosophy Guide

Ananya combines a PhD in philosophy from United Kingdom with fifteen years of personal meditation practice. She found contemplative study while examining ancient texts and realized that theory alone isn’t meaningful without direct experience. Her approach links scholarly insight with real-world application.

She leads our deeper philosophical explorations and retreat programs. Ananya has a talent for rendering intricate philosophical ideas accessible without oversimplifying. Students often say she helps them grasp not only how to meditate but why these practices emerged and what they aim to achieve.

Why We Teach This Way

After years of practice and teaching, we’ve learned that meditation is most effective when demystified. We don’t promise enlightenment or guaranteed peace. Instead, we focus on building skills to navigate life's inevitable challenges with greater awareness and reduced reactivity.

Our courses begin in September 2026, giving you time to decide whether this approach resonates. We believe in taking time to choose contemplative practice thoughtfully—not something to rush into from momentary enthusiasm.

If you’re curious about meditation as a practical life skill rather than a spiritual quest, we’d be glad to guide your exploration. The practice has subtly but deeply changed our lives, and we’ve witnessed the same transformation in many others.
